‘Pumpkin Pepper’ Sweet Pepper is an open-pollinated variety that matures in 90 days. ORNAMENTAL ONLY!!! Pumpkin shaped fruits (about 1.5 inch diameter). ‘Pumpkin Pepper’ Sweet Pepper plants are thornless. Mature red fruits left on the bush and allowed to over winter should become a burnt orange color for that pumpkin look. Pick fruits the following spring when dry. Some may need to have additional drying time before storing. In growing, treat like an eggplant. Grow on well drained soils and fertilize well. Water when needed. Best to start indoors in early March and transplant out in late May or early June in warm 60 degrees F and above soil only. Space 18″ apart in the row and 36″ between rows. Approximately 4,000-5,625 seeds per ounce or 64,000-90,000 seeds per pound.
